For over 20 years, we have focused on delivering long-term financial returns for our clients whilst contributing to the growth of a low-carbon, sustainable economy through our global investment program.

OUR SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

OUR BELIEFS

Stafford firmly believes that Environmental, Social and Governance factors are intrinsic to the investment environment in which it operates.

We recognise our responsibility as an investment manager to contribute to a more sustainable financial system by taking a long-term, responsible approach to investing across all our investment strategies.

As an active investor, we play an important role in ensuring our investments uphold commonly accepted standards of environmental protection, human rights, and good governance in a way that will enhance and underpin the financial returns that our clients expect of us and add long term value to the societies of which we are a part.

We believe that good ESG management leads to enhanced long-term financial returns, better investment decisions and a closer alignment of objectives among investors, stakeholders, and society at large.

OUR APPROACH

ESG integration in the investment process, driven to making a difference

Our investment approach integrates ESG considerations in all stages of the investment process, using the six principles of the PRI framework as guidance.[1] Our team assesses ESG factors before and after every investment decision.

We ensure our due diligence process incorporates extensive analysis of a manager’s attitude and approach towards ESG integration. Our investment teams further assess ESG risks and opportunities facing each asset, as well as assessing: ESG related incidents, contribution to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), alignment to Stafford’s RI Policy and, where applicable, specific fund objectives during the due diligence process.

SUSTAINABILITY COMMITTEE

Implementing our Responsible Investment framework

Overseeing the implementation of our Responsible Investment Policy, our sustainability committee has a direct link to both the Executive Management Board and the Investment Committee of each business line.

Stafford’s Head of Sustainability, Marta Jankovic, chairs the Committee and progresses sustainability-related activities across each of our business lines.

The Sustainability Committee is comprised of seven members who represent Stafford’s core teams.
